Although many deep sad poems are absent of any trace of hope, I've found that a healthy optimism is a necessity in the healing process.
Without it, many teen friendship poems might cease to exist.

Love can play the cruelest tricks
When mind and heart believe
Death grip on the high times
While trapped in suffering and need

Waiting for a sign you still believe

That he's conceived
Waiting for a moment
For you to prove that you believe
But if you fall from me again

My heart may run and hide for good
