Farewell Poems...

Do my farewell poems speak of the reality of departure, the fight against it, or are they a means of protecting me from feeling?

Or, could it be some combination of all three?

When I think about and write depressing poems I often try to put on what I may not be able to say out loud.

The same could be true about the heartbroken poems that I've written.

It is interesting that my daily horoscope inspired this poem.

It said that because of a change in life, I may not be able to think logically.

That may be true because my sad poem below doesn't follow any of my usual "formatting" (there never really is any). But, moreso, it switches gears and focus throughout.

I still like it and I hope that you do, too.

Closed...

I closed myself off to the world
And though they see my eyes
They'll never see my visions
I keep them locked inside
I closed myself off to the world
And though they hear my voice
They'll never hear my fears
I keep them safe inside
I closed myself off to the world
And though they feel my touch
They'll never feel my heartbeat
I keep it still inside
I closed myself off to the world
Barriers rebuilt around me
Am I safe inside?
Or will you make it through someday?
"6 weeks" from now we'll see
Confusion knocks abruptly
Silence chasing me
Hoping that you'll give up
True love was make believe
Self-fulfilling prophecy
Mind crying slowly
Adoption entangle me
Sacrifice my heart
Sacrifice your love my friend
When it's over
Will we be?
Will you know where to find me?
Hide again, I'll not be found
Do you Love enough to take my barriers down?
