Long Distance Love Poem
by David Bohmiller
(Boston, MA)
In a long distance love poem or relationship, it's not the distance in miles, but the distance in your heart that matters.
The most difficult part of these love trials in this case stems from a break in communication, making the distance feel that much farther.
To help me cope through times like these, I often turn to love poetry and sometimes sad poetry.
Here's one I wrote while sitting at our quiet and quaint little coffee shop.
There to Stay...
At our table I sit hands shaking
Thinking my pulse would fade away
Yet my heart beats stronger than ever
Yearning, come what may
Proud
Strong
Believing
Slowly comes our day
Helpless to end this trembling
Knowing time could never wash away
Our memories and dreams
Smiling, come what may
Awake
Eyes
Conceiving
Patient for our day
Quiet, insides screaming
Unable to hold your hand today
Holding on to our last kiss
Our hearts
Forever
Together
And they're there to stay
