My Brother

by Darla
(Unknown)

No...but seemingly. I was born so late and your mama had you at such a young age. I was six when you came into the world. I was so curious....about your cries, about YOU. Through the years you grew. I took care of you but mostly, Grandma did...so your mama could go back to school and get the partying out of her system. Your dad was the wrong one for you but you found the right one. He held your head on his lap as you were gone...going....as my sister said, "I could hold your body but not your soul." None of us could. A piece of our worlds gone so instantaneously. My "brother" that lived in love, eighty years in fourteen.

Why did she write this book after so long? Because you deserve a voice. You need to be heard. You are still so missed and so loved.

I miss you.
