Sad Poem
by David Bohmiller
(Boston, MA)
I wrote this sad poem at midnight on an emotionally taxing day.
Parts of the day were terrific and others were stressful.
As much of an optimist as I am, there are times when I also need encouragement and a friendly voice letting me know that all will be okay.
This may seem like one of the sadder poems I've written as of late, but I know that it's just part of life's little roller-coaster.
Gone...
I opened up my eyes today
Your smile no longer there
Cold and empty pillow
Your scent vanished from the air
I thought I felt my heart beat
One last time before despair
Fell back to my pillow
And found one strand of hair
The only thing that tells me
That you were ever there
I wonder if I saw you
If you'd even notice I was there.

P.S. ~ I don't want anyone to worry..haha. For many people, writing sad poems is a great way of releasing emotion and making things better! You should try it!
